Eén van de belangrijkste recente internationale verwezenlijkingen waar El Rumbo actief aan meewerkte is de Belgische kortfilm “Tanghi Argentini” van Guido Thys (productie door Another Dimension of an Idea/Anja Daelemans en Dries Phlypo) die dadelijk van bij zijn première tijdens het kortfilmfestival van Gent verkozen werd tot beste Belgische kortfilm van 2006.

El Rumbo verzorgde de dansregie, de coaching van acteurs en actrices, figuranten, dansers, dansacts, etc

Ondertussen was Tanghi Argentini reeds te zien op meer dan 50 internationale filmfestivals waaronder Cannes en won hij al meer dan 35 prestigieuze Awards op festivals zoals: Clermont-Ferrand, Aspen, L.A (BAFTA-award), Moondance (Hollywood), Abu Dhabi, Nashville, Rhode Island, New York, Bermuda, Granada, Almeria, Corto, Seattle, Milwaukee, Sweden, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Montreal, Melbourne, Cannes, Geneve, etc (meer Dan 69 filmfestivals/29 awards EN een heuse Oscarnominatie in de categorie Kortfilm voor 24 februari 2008 !!!)

De Belgische kortfilm Tanghi Argentini van regisseur Guido Thys heeft in Rome het Internationaal kortfilmfestival La Cittadella Del Corto gewonnen. Het is de negende internationale prijs voor de kortfilm, die ook op het Filmfestival Gent met de hoofdprijs ging lopen. De prent liet in Rome een aantal andere internationale prijsbeesten achter zich.
'Alle aspecten van filmmaken in deze grappige Belgische film zijn van een ontzettend hoog niveau', zegt de jury.

Het filmfestival van Montréal, dat tussen 23 augustus en 3 september doorging, selecteerde 2 langspelers en 3 kortfilms van Vlaamse makelij. Naast Ben X (Nic Balthazar) en Koning van de Wereld (Guido Henderickx) kon prijsbeest Tanghi Argentini evenmin ontbreken, de meest succesvolle Vlaamse kortfilm sinds Flatlife, sinds haar prijs op Clermont, zowat overal geselecteerd.

De Vlaamse kortfilm "Tanghi Argentini" van regisseur Guido Thys heeft de Grote Prijs gewonnen op het Internationaal Filmfestival van Rhode Island. Dat meldt het Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF). Het festival vond plaats van 7 tot 12 augustus. De onderscheiding, die de film automatisch op de shortlist voor de Oscars plaatst, is meteen de vijftiende internationale prijs voor de film.
